Screen Systems

Sliding screens are generally used on large openings, most commonly on the exterior of sliding glass doors. The panels of this system can be pocketed into a wall cavity, be center split, or stack to the left or right when fully open.

A common application of a sliding screen system is to create protected outdoor space like a screened porch.

Solar Innovations^®’ traditional screen doors are available in both outswing single, as well as French door configurations. The screen door is constructed from an aluminum frame which mimics the sightlines of our swing doors.

For a consistent look, both the screen and swing door can utilize the same handle style. The hinges used on our screen doors are the same as the ones in our hurricane-rated folding door system, which prevents rust and potential operation issues. There are five types of screens to choose from and the frames are available in all of our standard and designer finishes. Sizes range up to 42” W x 120” H for terrace doors and up to 84” W x 120” H for French doors.

Fixed screens are used on casement, awning, hopper, tilt turn, and sliding glass windows. This type of screen is the typical selection for residential and commercial applications and is attached in a stationary position. Fixed screens can be easily removed for cleaning.

These screens can also be placed on the interior of an operable skylight or ridge vent to protect from insects. For casement and awning windows, screens are typically placed on the inside of the frame, closest to the interior space. Screens on tilt turn and hopper windows are placed on the exterior side since the window opens to the interior. Sizes range up to 96” W x 192” H.

B Series Screens are a pleated screen suited for larger openings. These screens consist of either a single or double panel configuration, and have the capability to meet on a 90° corner to enclose a space with only one visible, vertical division. This screen can be paired with folding doors, sliding doors, French doors, lift slide doors, or screen rooms.

C Series EcoScreens combine the functionality of both an insect screen and privacy shade. The unit is available in an all-screen configuration, an all-blind configuration, or a combination blind and screen unit. The blinds and screens are retracted from vertical cassettes on both sides of the opening and feature an anti-slam mechanism. The blind portion of the unit can also function as a projector screen for your home theater system.

Sheer

Solar Innovations^® offers a retractable screen with a stylish, pleated material that can be operated with one hand. Units may include one to six panels and can be parted at any vertical rail. G Series Screens have an ADA compliant sill track and are available in several frame finish options. These screens can typically be designed to match the vertical rail alignment of the door system they are complementing, minimizing sightline interruptions.

Milano

A retractable door screen can be easily integrated into either a single door or French door opening. The screens can be either a single unit that pulls left to right or a double panel which joins in the middle and then retracts back to the framing. Our Milano screens are held together in the center with industrial strength magnets. Screens allow users to easily pass from inside to outside and can be stopped at any point on the track with the anti-slam feature. Several frame finishes and sizes are available that will suit most openings.

S Series Screens are vertically retractable screens that provide the ability to enjoy the outdoors while being protected from pests. S Series Screens feature a specialty zipper system which guides the fabric within the track and prevents insects from entering. The zipper system can also prevent sunlight from entering the room if black out fabric is selected.

W-V screens

W-V screens are a horizontally retractable system that allow for unobstructed views without any visible frames, pull bars or seams. They are capable of screening openings up to 336” W x 132” H. Operable with just a single hand, these durable screens are made with a wind and pet resistant mesh.

W-H screens are a horizontally retractable system and can be paired with a wide array of door types. A single screen can open up to 252”, or paired with an opposing screen to double the protection to 504”. This system features an auto-stop function that can stop anywhere along its track, allowing for easy access.
