Fixed screens are used on in-swing, out-swing, and sliding operable windows. This type of screen is the typical selection for homes and businesses. The screen frame is attached in a stationary position. A fixed screen is used in conjunction with casement windows, awning windows, sliding windows, hopper windows, and tilt turn windows. Fixed screens can be removed for cleaning.
A fixed screen can also be placed on the interior of an operable skylight or ridge vent. Casement and awning window screens are typically placed on the inside of the frame, closest to the interior space. Screens on tilt turn and hopper windows are placed on the exterior because the window opens to the interior. Fixed screens are available in all SI standard finishes and screening options. These are smooth, non-pleated texture screens.
