Product Insight: G2 FGW v. G3 FGW

Folding glass walls are a signature product of Solar Innovations, Inc. and have been since the company’s inception. With the third generation (G3) folding glass wall framing system, Solar is capable of engineering  5′ wide x 10′ high panels, with the possibly of larger panels depending on engineering criteria. The G3 system is similar to its predecessor, the G2 system; the major difference occurs in the framework. The G3 frame is three inches thick and uses dual wheel trolleys, while the G2 system is 2 ¼”. These G3 attributes make larger, heavier panels possible. With wheels on both sides of the trolley, panels move easier and feel significantly lighter.

Solar’s G3 system can incorporate other Solar Innovations, Inc.’s systems with matching sightlines, including: swing and pivot doors, transoms, and sidelites. Visit our folding glass walls page to learn more about Solar Innovations, Inc.’s folding glass walls and their framing options.
