Commercial Folding Glass Walls
A commercial building is the perfect place for a folding glass wall by Solar Innovations®. Folding glass walls, folding glass doors, or bifold doors can be used in conjunction with any commercial application. Below are a few examples of how they can be implemented into your commercial space:
- Open up the seating options in a restaurant with natural light and a space to patio seating. In addition, pass food through folding glass windows from the kitchen.
- Create a glass partition or operable partition between car showrooms. Open folding glass walls can easily allow cars to pass between sections or back onto the lot. A flush sill allows for unobstructed passage of the vehicle.
- An all aluminum frame makes the folding glass doors suitable for hospital or retirement home facilities. One of several ADA compliant sill options can be utilized to meet code requirements in such instances.
THERMAL FRAMES
Solar Innovations®’ folding glass wall frames are constructed entirely of aluminum and can be veneered with various wood species to create an attractive wood clad option. Two types of frames are available: thermal and non-thermal. A thermal frame is insulated and is appropriate for exterior locations where the door will be in contact with outdoor elements.
Thermal frames are available in three stile widths: narrow, standard, and wide, allowing for flexible sight lines and bottom rails. The panel framing can be wider to accommodate structural requirements and the inside stiles used as grids can be non-thermal 25-inch narrow rail stile. Stiles can be mixed and matched, and then integrated on a single door to create a truly unique, customized product.
INTERIOR APPLICATIONS
Non-thermal folding glass wall frames are not insulated and should be used for interior locations, where there is no exposure to the elements, or in three season applications such as the Caribbean. These can often be found in schools and institutions to divide rooms.
Thermally Enhanced
The thermal break separates the aluminum and minimizes conductivity of heat and cold from the inside to the outside to ensure a structure’s interior remains comfortable at any time of year.

CUSTOM SHAPES & HARDWARE
All folding glass wall sizes, configurations, and panel counts are completely custom. There are no two identical folding glass wall units constructed by Solar Innovations®. This means your doors can be constructed to match any opening and may contain any number of panels; units can even be retrofitted to match an existing opening.
Solar offers several commercial hardware options for folding glass walls including removable/adjustable closer, double door and single door panic hardware, and push/pull handles. Stainless steel, corrosion proof, two-point locks are easy to operate on the doors, are aesthetically appealing, and offer great security. ADA sills are available on most commercial folding glass wall models as well as high performance sills for high wind and water applications.
Series SI3000 thermally enhanced aluminum folding glass wall systems are a great way to open your environment and are useful in both commercial and residential applications. They have been incorporated into pool houses, covered patios, enclosed porches, restaurants, retirement homes, stadiums, hotels, and golf resorts, just to name a few.
The system offers exceptional air, water, structural, and thermal performance in any condition. Multiple sill options and profile dimensions provide greater performance and design flexibility. Customization of product profiles, hardware, sills, panel size, and testing can be completed upon request.

Testing Information
Solar Innovations, Inc.’s folding glass walls offer superior testing results, including Florida (including Miami DADE/HVHZ) and Texas (TDI) approvals, NFRC certification, high DP ratings, ADA compliant options, and offer low maintenance solutions for most applications. Solar Innovations, Inc.’s in-house engineering team comprised of architects, engineers, and drafters, modify each project to match the exact parameters required by the specification. This allows Solar Innovations, Inc. to provide an industry leading customizable product for any application.
Solar Innovations, Inc. specializes in aluminum framed folding glass walls and offers the largest tested panel (3′ ½” x 9′ ½”) currently on the market for Florida impact ratings. A single non-impact rated panel can reach up to five feet wide by fifteen feet tall (5′ x 15′) and is ideal for multiple story buildings or large spans. The majority of Solar’s products, including the Series SI3000 thermally enhanced system, have been impact, water, and structurally tested for superior performance in any climate. Any specific size and combination of customizable options that are not currently tested can be mocked up, tested at Solar’s in-house testing facility, and certified by a third party. This state of the art facility with third party certification allows Solar to reduce lead times for commercial and residential projects requiring testing approval with custom configurations. Any application can be completely customized to provide limitless design flexibility in hardware and stile widths.
