Venting skylights are used to bring fresh air and circulation into a room and operate with the use of a continuous hinge, similar to a ridge vent’s function. A venting skylight has a higher profile than that of a ridge vent and offers better air and water performance along with a higher thermal value. Like a ridge vent, venting skylights can be utilized in any glass structure, such as greenhouses and sunrooms. Whereas ridge vents are typically used in-system, an operable system can also be attached to an existing traditional construction roof as a standalone unit. If providing fresh air or extra daylight to a room is your objective, an operable skylight, whether manual or motorized, is a very good solution.

Custom Venting Skylight Options

All operable skylights designed by Solar Innovations^® are custom built to the owner’s specifications. The sizing, finish and glass selection are all job specific. Solar Innovations^® will assist the customer in designing a skylight to fit their application. There are seven standard finishes available for the skylight and any custom color can be created. Glazing selections range from LowE tints to decorative options and security glass. A customer can start with a call to sales describing what they want to accomplish or send a sketch with a rough drawing of their desired skylight. The Solar Innovations^® team will work with you to design, price, and educate you on the skylight systems.
