Frost Seeding Your Lawn

Are you familiar with the term “frost seeding?” Although this type of seeding is commonly used by professionals, home gardeners often overlook it’s benefits. During the early spring the ground often goes through a process of freezing, thawing, and expanding  this causes cracks and crevices to appear in your lawn. During this period, seeds can be sown into the grounds during the frost periods, allowing them to fall into these cracks. When thawing occurs, your seeds will be naturally covered by soil. This process will save you time, money, and energy. The need for watering is also reduced, because the ground is naturally soggy, due to the Spring thaw. This process works well when for planting or re-planting lawns.
