Growing Herbs In Your Greenhouse

Winter is a great time of the year to spend in your greenhouse relaxing. Winter is also an excellent time to begin raising herbs that you did not have time or space for in your summer garden.  If you are not lucky enough to have the benches that you can grow your herbs in directly, any pot or container will suffice. Research the herbs you wish to grow and remember that many are beneficial to your body’s health.

A few of the most common herbs that are grown in residential greenhouses are Oregano, Basil, Parsley, Rosemary, Chives, Mints, Cilantro, Thyme and Cinnamon. Many of these herbs contain beneficial antioxidants. For example, cinnamon helps lower inflammation as well as reduces blood glucose. Some herbs will grow rapidly and will need to be harvested often. Herbs can easily be dried for use in future salads, roasts, or a garnishes for teas. The health benefits are endless when producing your own herbs.
