Solar Innovations, Inc. Raises Money for Local Food Pantries

The Solar Innovations, Inc. family donated over $1500 worth of food to the Williams Valley and Pine Grove area food pantries. This marks the third fundraiser since the launch of Solar Cares, a campaign dedicated to giving back to those in need within the surrounding community.

Team members were able to dress casually for the month with a donation of at least $25 or a full case of non-perishable food items. The Team raised $1000, and the Company donated an additional $500. The fundraiser lasted from February 1st to the 29th. The funds raised were used to purchase hams and various cases of non-perishable items for an average of 160 families.

The Solar Cares campaign was launched in October 2015, when the team donated over $1700 for the Breast Cancer Research Fund at the Penn State Hershey Cancer Institute in Hershey, PA. Solar Cares continued in December 2015 when the team participated in the Adopt-a-Family program, providing presents for a local family with five children ages 1 to 12. Individual team members purchased gifts from the family’s wish list; in addition, the Solar Team raised $1700, which was used to purchase additional toys, food, and other items for the family. Of this amount, $500 was donated to the Salvation Army Corporation in Pottsville, PA.

The Solar Family is excited to make such large contributions to the community. “Collectively, we are more powerful than we realize. Individually, this may not seem feasible, but when 170 people rally together as a team, it’s amazing what we can accomplish,” said CEO, Greg Header. The team will continue the Solar Cares fundraising campaign in April and has already chosen its next organization, which will be announced at the beginning of the month.
