Pine Grove, PA, June 10, 2013 – Solar Innovations, Inc., a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial greenhouses; conservatories; folding, sliding, and stacking walls, doors, windows, and screens; sunrooms; and skylights; recently received national, state, and regional honors for performance and growth.
On May 23rd, Greg Header, President of Solar Innovations, Inc. was selected as the top entrepreneur in the Northeast Division of the Governor’s Impact Awards. This award is given to an entrepreneur who has led his or her company to a position of strength in the marketplace by way of growth in one or all of the following areas: creativity, innovation, managerial ability, leadership skills, and turnaround. Greg was acknowledged for constant innovative product releases, mentoring, community involvement, and personal involvement with employees over the past 15 years. Solar Innovations, Inc. has grown each year in shipped sales, showing the dedication that Greg and his team members have to the company’s continued success.
On May 17th, the National Sunroom Association acknowledged Solar Innovations, Inc.’s excellence in sunroom design by honoring the company with awards in two categories.
“Existing or Wood Roof Sunrooms above $50,000” Winner
In this category, a glass enclosure that is used for entertaining and swimming in New York was honored. The enclosure features one of Solar’s specialties, a solid roof structure with a projected conservatory nose shaped dormer. The structure also contained sliding glass doors, sliding windows, and a decorative arched grid pattern along its fixed glass sections.
“Glazed Roof Sunroom $35,000-$50,000” Winner
A curved eave, double pitch sunroom located in Connecticut was also honored. This restoration project brought new life to a thermally inefficient sunroom. The improved sunroom design, which incorporates a knee wall, features a curved eave, ridge vents that span the entire length of the structure, and a terrace door that features grids.
Solar Innovations, Inc. received an honorable mention from the NEPA Manufacturers and Employers Association for its community service on April 4th. Solar is actively involved in various charitable causes and corporate philanthropy such as Red Cross blood drives, food pantry donations, United Way’s “Adopt-A-Family” program, The American Cancer Society’s “Daffodil Days,” The American Heart Associations’ “Go Red for Women,” and Relay for Life, as well as donating to relief efforts for Hurricane Sandy and Haiti Earthquake relief. Solar Innovations, Inc. also participates in local high school program sponsorship that aids in student employability.
In April of 2013 Solar Innovations, Inc. placed 30th on the Greater Reading Chamber of Commerce’s Top Businesses list. The list is released annually and ranks the area’s top 50 growth companies based on the previous three years of data. All companies named to the list must be privately or publically owned and have revenue of at least one million dollars for three consecutive years.
Solar Innovations, Inc. was awarded LEED Gold Certification in February 2011 for its manufacturing facility and corporate office. In a continued attempt to be an example of environmental stewardship to the industry and community, Solar Innovations, inc. has begun working towards LEED Platinum certification and hopes to submit in the third quarter of 2013.
