the Challenge

A residential architect in Connecticut sought operable doors for their clients in order to open up their living space to the outdoors. When searching for a manufacturer, Hobb Incorporated approached Solar Innovations® to take their ideas and build completely custom doors. They needed doors that had high thermal performance to withstand the New England winters and knew Solar was the answer.

the Solution

Solar Innovations® installed a single door G2 Folding Glass Wall System in the client’s living room to open the space up to their outdoor lounge area. They also installed our G3 Lift Slide Doors in the kitchen which, in turn, opened up to an outside dining experience. With the thermal break in our systems, the glass and aluminum are separated to minimize conductivity of heat and cold. This ensures that the interior of a structure remains comfortable any time of year and makes for happier clients.

In addition, Solar’s designs always offer a seamless transition between spaces. By working with Solar, the client was guaranteed to get a quality product that met all of their wants and needs while still blending together with their current home design.
