The American Red Cross Bloodmobile was onsite at Solar Innovations, Inc. on Wednesday, July 16 from 8 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. We are proud to announce that 19 of our team members were able to participate in the blood drive–which meets our goal set by The Red Cross.
This blood drive was part of the American Red Cross’ “100 Days of Summer. 100 Days of Hope” campaign. The campaign was created in efforts to increase the amount of blood donations during the summer months–a time when the number of donations typically drops.
The American Red Cross exists to provide aid to those in need worldwide in five key service areas: Supporting Military Families, Disaster Relief, Health and Safety Services, International Services, and Lifesaving Blood. The Red Cross provides more than 40% of America’s blood supply, and it is the largest single supplier of blood in the U.S., with nearly 4 million people donating each year.
Solar Innovations, Inc. is excited to be able to contribute to this life-saving network. “As a team, we are consistently putting forth a strong effort to do our part in saving lives. We have had great participation over the years, and we appreciate everyone’s willingness to take time out of their busy days for a worthy cause,” said Melissa Cramer, Human Resource Manager at Solar. Solar invites The American Red Cross bloodmobile to host several blood drives for our company each year–usually one every quarter. All team members are invited to donate blood during the blood drive to help patients accross the country. Our next blood drive is already scheduled for October 2014.
