Although the northeast is rapidly approaching the time of year when our roads and pathways will become “rutted” from driving in the four letter “S-word” – SNOW, the Solar team is reminding you to get out of the rut and think beyond the name greenhouse. Yes, many times greenhouses are designed specifically for a plant collection, but they can serve a far greater reaching purpose when carefully considered. Many people fail to realize that greenhouses can be used for more than just growing plants and can provide an excellent location for entertaining friends and family or having the evening meal.
Greenhouses can be freestanding structures or share a wall with your home, making them easy to access year-round. Greenhouses offer an ideal space away from the home to host birthday parties, celebrate holidays, or a family game night without concern for inclement weather.
Don’t get stuck in the same rut of watching TV while you eat; regain the family dining experience. Lean-to greenhouses (greenhouses that share a wall with your home) provide an excellent place for formal or informal dining without leaving your home. Meals can be enjoyed in the serene greenhouse amongst flowers and plants instead of in view of the kitchen or in front of the television.
