Solar Innovations, Inc., a custom manufacturer of residential and commercial sliding, folding, and stacking glass walls; conservatories; sunrooms; greenhouses; skylights; and curtain walls; announces their fourth local expansion in five years.
Solar Innovations, Inc. has broken ground on a 40,000 square foot expansion to their “Building 2” (43 Roberts Road), which currently serves as materials storage and logistics headquarters. The addition will double the building’s size and mark Solar’s fourth production floor space expansion in five years. The new addition will give Solar Innovations, Inc. a total of 340,000 square feet of corporate office and manufacturing space on the 26 acre campus.
Solar Innovations, Inc. has been proud to be a part of the Pine Grove Township community since 2009 when the corporate headquarters and manufacturing facility moved from Myerstown, PA. Solar purchased Building 2 in 2010, and in 2013, as the Company grew again, acquired Building 3.
Greg Header, president, stated, “The move has been a good thing for Solar. Pine Grove has provided us with better logistical opportunities, as well as opened our manufacturing to a new pool of employees. Our additional space has allowed for our company to nearly double its revenue volume in five years.”
The new addition to Building 2 will provide Solar Innovations, Inc. with more space for its continually expanding in-house capabilities; the most recent additions being a 20’ tall product test wall, L Series blinds, and the completion of the wood and vinyl door and window production lines. While working through the expansion, Solar has committed to the addition of 30 full time employment opportunities over the next five years.
When the construction is complete, Building 2 will have reached 80,000 square feet of manufacturing floor space, which will afford Solar the space necessary to once again Kaizen its operations and ensure proper production flow amongst the campus buildings.
Solar Innovations, Inc. has worked toward this production capacity goal for over 16 years, and plans to reach it with this expansion. Additionally, Solar intends to continue to develop new products and innovations for its existing product lines, and work toward the goal of earning its place on the list of “Best Places to Work in PA.”
