PINE GROVE, PA – The Solar Innovations® team would like to congratulate Coleman Partners Architects and Park Elementary School in Baton Rouge, LA as recipients of the 2020 IDEA Award of Excellence. While this award acknowledges the impressive work done across the entire project, Solar Innovations® is proud to have been the provider of the 15 Folding Glass Wall systems used throughout the school.
Beginning in 2017, Coleman Partners Architects, LLC was tasked with designing a new “21st Century Elementary School” to replace an aging facility originally constructed in 1955. One of the most important elements in achieving this design goal was to create a transparent, light-filled, open setting that fostered collaboration and creativity – making Solar Innovations® Folding Glass Walls the perfect solution.
Although the Folding Glass Walls in this project were installed for interior use, impact-resistant laminated glazing was utilized to ensure long-term durability in an educational environment. As an added benefit, the laminated glazing provides enhanced acoustical performance and an increased resistance to forced entry.
